Aloe Soap

Aloe vera soap  was on my ‘to do’ list since some months.  My will was to make a soap using the fresh aloe vera plant and not the gel/juice which can easily be found in shops. We had an aloe plant back at home which was really old and growing too big and when my mother came to visit us this year, she brought it to me. I have never tried this plant in soap, but I am addicted to this plant and I am using it a lot.

Aloe vera has a long history as a safe and effective internal medicine and external skin care emollient. With a high water content of nearly 96%, this plant called also ‘Fountain of Youth’ or ‘First Aid Plant’,  has been hailed as a medicinal plant with many beneficial properties.

Soap made of: coconut oil, avocado oil, olive oil, castor oil, linseed oil, palm oil, cacao butter, goatmilk, fresh aloe vera and cajeput essential oil or white tea tree essential oil for its sweet but penetrating smell.

Natalia, this sounds so wonderful, so rich and decadent,I wish I could try some.
How do you use aloe, other then in soapmaking? I know it is a miracle plant, but I’ve never heard that someone uses it fresh.

Those soaps look so grate! I made couple of times the soaps with purchased aloe vera gel but I think that this approach, juicing your own plant, is much more skin beneficial. Aloe vera soap is on my “long rage plan” to do list since I decided to buy this plant and grow it at my home. Who knows when it will be ready to be juiced? Anyhow, thank you very much for sharing this valuable experience!

    Bravo.

These soaps look so good Natalia! I’m sure they must be luxurious to use. One day I will also try out an aloe vera soap….so many new things to put into soap. 🙂
