Jasmin Soap

Savon au jasmin Many of you have for sure already heard about this challenge organized by Lucy from Simply Radiant. The purpose is to make a soap every month based on a different country, on an ingredient representing the chosen country. The challenge can be followed on Youtube because the participants have to submit 2 videos every month:one showing the country they picked and a second one showing the soaping result. I am not really into videos, I have never made them (even though I wish I could make them), but I still wanted to take part. So, I decided to make every month a different soap based on a specific ingredient from a country (without the video part).

zeep bloem jasmijnFor my first month (January) I choose Tunisia and of course the ingredient first representing this country is nothing else than Jasmine flower. I have never used this flower in soap, so I was thinking how to introduce it in my soap apart from decoration. I got this idea of making powder of this dry flower. So this soap is an exfoliating soap which contains olive oil, coconut oil, cacao butter, grapessed oil, palm oil, castor oil, goat milk, jasmine powder, spirulina maxima powder, lavender, rosemary, clary sage and patchouli essential oils.Jasmine Flower Soap

I would like to thank this way Lucy for organizing this challenge! This is an awesome idea and an excellent way to discover new ingredients and to make work my imagination.

Waouw!!!!

Oooops,am I the only one who hasn’t known for this challenge? I’m glad you have,I’m looking forward to seeing this world journey your way!
I’ve been in Tunisia and I remember jasmine blooming trees and their dazing smell all around. That time I hated jasmine, its scent was overwhelming every cell of mine. Later, I realized how fine it can be, when dozed properly, lol!
Great idea you implemented here,I like this soap and the buds on the top are so beautiful. You maybe just could have tried some jasmine f.o. I know it wouldn’t suit your dedication to natural, but that’s my idea,I had to say. Tunisia is a great exporter of fragrances, jasmine is the first one, among many others.
Looking forward to seeing your February country!

Thanks Maja! In fact I made 2 bars and for one I them I tried jasmine fo, as requested by a colleague of mine. I will make an exception and I will try it, and I will let you know my impressions 😉
