Never before thought of trying this challenging swirl, but with this week 2 we had this lovely occasion to give it a try. Elemental swirl is basically two in-the-pot swirls divided by a pencil line. It sounds gorgeous, I know, but at the first sight it sounded kind of difficult to me, because of the multitide of colors( not that I don’t like colors, but I wanted to continue in the same way of 100% natural colorants).
For the first layer I used as colorants: 1)green clay, 2)blue cambrian clay, 3) spirulina, 4) zinc oxide combined with spirulina. The pencil line was made of cacao powder. I am a real fan of the perfect pencil line, so I thought it would be interesting to make a less straight line. The second layer contains as colorants: 1)alkanet, 2)rose clay, 3)red ochre, 4)zinc oxide. I am pretty happy with the results, maybe not as shiny as I wanted this soap to be, but nevertheless…
Scented with geranium (rose) essential oil and clary sage essential oil, gorgeous combination!
I like the earthy tones 😀
You got so pretty colors. I especially like the top layer that is very swirly 🙂
Nat, you are real magician! I suppose that this technique is more challenging when you use natural colorants but you really achieved the maximum!
I was really looking forward to seeing how you would do this with natural colorants, and you did it beautifully! Love the effect you got, bravo Nat!
The natural colors are so very lovely!
