This is my 2nd soap made for The Holly Swirl Challenge. I was in the mood for flowers, so I added some rosebuds on top: beautiful in every way, roses are the perfect flowers.
I don’t know if it is due to the new mold I use (Coprah mold from Saponine), but lately I really like the blue/violet I obtain using alkanet. Or this is because my alkanet has been infused already for months which makes that this color is more deep, which I simply adore!
The colorant I have discovered recently on Aroma-Zone is Rubia cordifolia (Manjishta) root powder, also used for this soap. It took me some time to realize that this is actually the colorant Rose Madder, of which I have already heard so much.
Called also Common Madder or Indian Madder, Rubia cordifolia is one of the best blood purifier Ayurveda herbs. Internal use of it in the form of powder or decoction seems to be beneficial in blood disorders. External, mixed with some honey, this powder is applied in various skin disorders like itching, spots on the face, pimples, burns.
