This ingredient was on my ‘to do ‘list since several months, and finally, I made a soap using it 2 weeks ago. I can say that this was one of the most interesting soap experiences: I was expecting any colour but not this lovely rose.
To give you some hints: the ingredient I use is a healthy one, found in the kitchen, full of antioxidants and vit C.
The one who guesses first, will receive a small soap present.
P.S. This is something I have never used before.
Wish you good luck!
cranberry
Such a beautiful color! Is it rosehip?
Roseship gives a lovely rose, indeed, but in this soap I used something else, Gordana! Thank you!
could it be beetroot ?
Sfecla da o culoare maro-verzuie, Ella! Iti multumesc si te mai las sa te gandesti 😉
boia de ardei, paprika? 😀
Nu, dar ai fost aproape de raspunsul corect.
Looks like madder root, but maybe Goji berry – gorgeous!
At this point, I have no idea what it could be, but it’s lovely! It’s hard to think there is something in the kitchen with this beautiful colour, even harder that you hadn’t used it before!
Thank you, Maja! I always want to add in soap everything I eat 😉
possumhaw?
possumhaw?
Nope 😦
Pomegranate
That is the exact colour I wanted to my rose soaps! 🙂 I don’t have any idea what that ingredient might be, but here is some wild guesses – cayenne pepper or hawthorn berries?
Thank you, Signe! Emma gave the correct answer.
Superba culoare!
Multumesc frumos!
red cabbage? 🙂
Thank you, Emma! You won! 🙂
superb, intr-adevar:) felicitari, Natalia!
Cranberries or strawberries
Hawthorn berry powder can turn into the said colour.
I was hoping to make a guess, but I would never have thought of red cabbage! Beautiful color! How does the soap smell? 🙂
Silvia, in the beginning it smelled strong like cabbage, but after 2 weeks and a half it diminuated and now you can smell the essential oil. Can’t wait to try this soap 😉
too late for the contest, but I wouldn’t have guessed it either. That’s a really nice colour and I’m in love with the little christmas trees
Superba culoare, ai topit soda in suc de varza rosie ?
Is that sweet paprika?
Maya
Sorry, Natalia, just read the answer above – it is red cabbage! A lovely color! I am looking forward to trying it some time soon. Did you add the leaves to the lye solution or did you make an oil infusion of the leaves?
Maya
Maya, I used very fresh juice as a straight water replacement and I really hope this colour holds 🙂
Wow Nat, I would never have guessed red cabbage. The colour is beautiful!
Nathalia, we’re about 4-5 weeks later now and I’m wondering how it went further on is with the red cabbage color in the soap. Did it stay or changed?
Thank you, Véronique, for your message. The color has changed into a darker one, I wll try to take a pic this weekend + update this post.
I am looking forward to it! 😀
